Well, today I got a friendly reminder from my manager that I need to take a course / exam / test towards a 'personal skills development credit', and 'while I cant force you to do it, but when another programmer recently had their compensation review session that didnt get their certification .. lets just say (his boss) wasn't impressed, and it didnt go as well as he would of liked"
So in short: If I want to get a raise in October with my compensation review, I need to do this.
That said, if you pass - they pay a good chunk of your fees, if you dont pass .. not so much. |
