You need to read the reviews to ANY of his movies over on Rotten Tomatoes.
It's like be brings out the best of the average professional movie critic's sense of humor, resulting in absolutely hilarious reviews.
Here's one about his 'Alone in the Dark,' which is also quoted in that same WIki article:

The 1st and the 2nd were good but this one is sooo full of cliches and those "epic" moments and music that this, so far, makes it the only movie that I didn't finish watching in the theater. |
