I don't know where to start here really. Got there at around 11:15, at which point I'd already missed OS/2 (ty). Tickets were $40 at the door, which I thought was a tad high. Got in and it was pretty empty at the time. Checked out the basement, and they were playing some really hard stuff down there. Then went up to the top floor where the slinky djs were playing. Saw the last part of that girls set (don't remember her name) she was laying it down pretty good. Then John the dentist came on and laid the pain down. What a great set he played. I (again) forget who came on after JTD, but he was pretty good too. My ride needed to leave so I didn't get to stay for lee mulin (GAH!). I can't believe how few people showed up for this. It irks me that you guys have threads talking about wanting a trance show on much music, and how you want the scene to be better, and how you all hate ginos and stuff... and here was the perfect bloody night and you don't all show up to support it. (those who attended are exempt from this bitching). I thought the venue was okie, some laser lights would have been nice though. The crowd that was there was 100% totally amazing. No low life ginos trying to pick up your girlfriend. No stupid muscle heads wanting to get into fights. Just everyone there for the music, what an exciting change. Hopefully everyone else had as much fun as I did. I can't wait for WEMF!

OMG.....

:eyespop:

What A ing amazing party.

I don't think I've heard better melodic trance this year. Hats off to OS/2 and 007 and the entire renaissance/slink uk crew for pulling off one hell of a success. The venue was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful and very classy to say the least. 3 floors of insanity, wicked vibe, and friendly people. The York Event Theatre ranks right up there with one of my favourite venues in the city. The lighting was stellar in the basement and in the trance room on the top floor. I'm literally speechless. Quite possibly another perfect night for me, especially since I won 2 tickets to this event as well.

Set of the night:

(tie between Pandora Stevens-Keller and Jon the Dentist)

Pandora - Wow! Can she tear up or what? Amazing flow and constant energy throughout her set, she kept me dancing non stop and to me that goes beyond what I expected. Congratulations on your Canadian debut and I hope to see you again soon! Uk certainly has something to watch out for in your stellar djing talents! p.s. - Thank you for dropping tracks like: Rank 1 - Awakenings and Barthezz - On the move

Jon the Dentist - You have shown me once again why you are one of my favourite DJs. I was amazed to find out that people as far as Pittsburgh, PA, who came here just to hear you perform, so to me that says alot about you. Your enthusiasm behind the decks is nothing short of stellar. Some memorable tracks that you played that I thank you for: Dj Kim - Jetlag (alpha zone remix I think), Dj Tiesto - Urban Train and last but not least, the best track I heard you play: Signum - Second Wave. The crowd went nuts when you dropped that one.

All in all, this is one of my top parties of 2002.

Thank you Slinky UK and Renaissance for a memorable evening.

OS/2, sorry I missed your set. Stupid work.

The main complaint i have about this party was the poor turn out. Very nice venue, however it definitely needed better sound and more than 5 lights per room...

JTD was pretty good, nice muzik but couldn't get goin because of the lack of people in there... Sound was way too loud, almost unbearable at times..

What else can i say?? It wasn't that big of a party, at all. There was definietly something lacking at this party, can't explain it..

And then i left and went to hear Lee Burridge at Guv.. continued in the Guv review post!
