Is it odd that the only reason I really place sports betting above traditional gambling (Poker excluded) is solely because of the book and movie, Casino?

I love how they make themselves throw up and then blame it on the pressures put by the horse owners.

I used to work for a racetrack and saw how brutal they are to the horses. They whip them so badly they bleed... they force the horses into the starting gate no matter how much they don't want to go in, and they will push them to the point that they fall from exhaustion, break their legs and inevitably have to be put down.
Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of owners who aren't as cruel to the horses as others, but overall it's just cruel to the animals no matter which way you look at it. |
