I've never wanted to buy a movie soundtrack before but this one I'd get in a heartbeat. Damn those were some great tunes!
I liked the film, very believable plot and well acted by Kalkbrenner. Given that he's not a professional actor I thought he did a great job. Very cool to see how excited he was for this screening - happily chatting with people, posing for pics and moving all around the cinema. We sat at the back and he was standing behind us for most of the screening. |

| I wish this hadn't conflicted with one of my TIFF selections - looking forward to renting it on DVD eventually! |

Some great (yet novelty) club scenes + humourous drug/sketch moments unfortunately didn't make up for the jumbo sized holes left in the plotline. The last hour in particular unraveled in like 5 different (in cohesive) directions. To be fair I think my movie standards are too high these days, I was hoping for something with a bit more depth a la "Trainspotting", instead I got "It's All Gone Pete Tong" set in a German psychiatric ward.
The tunes in the movie were ing awesome, and I was super (uber?) impressed with the sound system in that theatre.
Platform is awesome for doing something like this, bravo! |

:D :haha:
Good movie, nothing extrodinary, kinda knew what was going to happen all along, it's just nice to see a movie that's well made about something I really like. No real negative comments to make, I'd recommend it to people, and I'd def buy it when it comes out on DVD :D
Gawd, the scene where he trashes his record label producers office   :nervous: :nervous: |

Really liked it, despite it not being very original. Acting was great and the tunes made it more enjoyable. Could have done without a few scenes, but with foreign films they're expected.
Hearing Gebrünn Gebrünn in one of the final scenes made me smile. Sickkkkkk. |

hahaha, I went to the afterparty aswell... didnt have as great of an experience, due to the fact that I didnt know where the party was and I was hanging out in the lounge on the street level for about an hour wondering where the hell everyone was... I was actually waiting for the streetcar for about 15 mins to go home and then I noticed how there was like 30 people outside smoking... but there was never more than like 10 people in that lounge at a time so I realised that something didnt make sense. So I went back over to the place and read the sign and it said 'lounge - 2 DJs... and then Underground - Paul K, Jamie Kidd, Greg Gow, etc.' so I asked then where the undergound was and they are like go down the hall and take a right, so I was like WTF maybe there is actually a sweet party going on here... so I went down there and sure enough there was a sweet party going on, too bad it was already like 2.30 when I got down there and I just caught the end of the Paul K dude's set, Jamie Kidd was playing some sweet tunes aswell but I couldnt stay too much longer since I was so tired since I had already been at that place for a few hours (in that dead lounge on the main level) |
