flights from east midlands to edinburgh are about 55-80 pounds :) Been looking into taking one of them myself sometime to see some friends :) Leicester is ok, so long as she doesn't expect culture or intelligence :) |

So im here.... straight from Toronto Ontario and really down know where to look for a good place to party. Does Edinburgh have a house scene at all? Any help is appreciated cuz this city is OVERWHELMING right now but GORGEOUS :D |
i'm not hugely familiar with nights in edinburgh, but i've heard the liquid rooms is pretty decent.
Failing that glasgow is a 45 minute car ride or 1 hour train journey. Home to the best house club in britain in my humble opinion

Not long back from living in Toronto myself, but there's not always a great deal on in Edinburgh these days. Someone mentioned Progression on the first page but it's long gone now.
Also mentioned were the Liquid Rooms on Victoria Street and Cabaret Voltaire, both of these have some good nights on from time to time, sadly I didn't realise Paolo Mojo played Cab Voltaire last Saturday too :(
I'm sure there's smaller clubs with some good enough night on but I just don't know them. Not the same variety you were used to back in Toronto from week to week though.
Glasgow has the sub-club and then there's the Arches too for Colours (http://www.colours.co.uk/forum/view...23b3e16f6f48c2b - not always that decent though) on the first Sat of the month or Pressure (http://www.slamevents.com/clubupdates/pre ) which is more techno but usually has a decent line up and it's on the last Friday of each month.
Saying that Colours has Sasha, Danny Howells and Guy J next month if you like them |

Yeah it was my own fault really.
Does anyone know any decent sites that actually list all or most nights on in Glasgow or Edinburgh? I just look on the slame events or colours messageboards in the club sections but even they missed that Mojo night. |

I'll be going along to that - danny howells 5 hours in the play room has me sold. Hope they beef up the old sound system for him.
Also total plug - but i'm playing on october the 24th at this night ran by a couple of good friends. It's the fourth birthday party for what has been a great night in the past and I don't see any sign of it slowing down with loco dice to follow in december.
Free entry before 12, so get yourself along early. |
