We arrived WAYYYYYY too early, just after 12 and next to no one was there. Since my previous boat experiences have all been extremely SHORT I have to admit I was rather annoyed/confused that by quarter to one they were still setting up the boat, no one was boarded and there were maybe 10 people on the dock. I think after all the rain and boarding we left just before 2.
I did not enjoy the Junkies set at all. I would here are track I liked and would start to get into it, and the next track would have me standing....I also felt like their set wasn't really 'boat cruisy'... I thought it would have been better for a club.
This was my first time seeing Max Graham live. And WOWZERS <3 I fell in love over and over and over again on that boat.
I am sure that Mikey will give a complete list of all tracks played... but while you all are waiting, here is a sneak peak.
Good Vibrations - Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch (remix)
Golden Sun - Asle (Haji & Emanuel Remix)
David Morales - How Would You Feel [Philippe B Remix]
Straight outta compton (I'll post video later tonight once I learn how)
Johnny Cash - I wont back down ??????? This track was sick, what was it??? haha
Ummmm that’s all I can remember at this moment...
I thought the set was well constructed as well. It was upbeat and banging, everyone was dancing really hard, and then at the perfect time (due to heat/exhaustion) he brought it down a bit, and just before we pulled up to the dock he ended it with some fun upbeat, latin inspired tracks.
It was not a full boat.... which meant lots of room to dance... however I really think it is too bad that it didn't sell out... once again, Max Graham was incredible, and there should be a lot more support for our Canadian DJs.
The crowd was awesome. The typical boat cruise people, a mix of everyone, and everyone just there to have a great time. Attack of the booth bunnies, I don't know MG even had room to move back there. Nevertheless they were entertaining to watch.
Did anyone go to the after party? How was it?
This looks to be my last party of the summer... and what a perfect way to end Epic Summer of 2008.
Some pics and a video to come...

lol j/k.
Glad ya had fun...was kinda wishing I was on the boat around 3ish yesterday... then I fell asleep on the back deck & woke up at 4:30 lol. Good times.
One of these days I'll get to see MG again... one of these days...

So my last party before heading back to school in September turned out to be one of my favorites.
So one thing I need to get out of the way: Once again, Max succeeded in showcasing his incredible programming and technical skills. The track selection was amazing, he built it up and took it down at all the right moments. His mixing is something else, its a real pleasure to dance front and center and watch him use the mixer like a precision instrument. Max is worth seeing again and again.
So we got there early, and got caught in the rain. As was already mentioned, watching Nada run past us, arms flailing and screaming was worth the $50. Thanks for providing us with the good laugh, Nada.
So we boarded to the sounds of The Junkies. While they had some great tracks in their opening set, it wasn't really doing it for me. It didn't have the upbeat "boat-cruise vibe" I expected. It would have suited Footwork though.
So the sun slowly came out and it became really HOT, really quickly.
Max Graham came on, and I was instantly dancing. Such an upbeat vibe, it was perfect. I had so much fun. Max always puts on a great show with his antics in the booth as well !
He played a bunch of great tracks !
Tara's mentioned some already:

In the two times I've seen Max, Twice I've had "we have to get on the dance floor right ing now" moments. When he played David Morales - How Would You Feel [Philippe B Remix] I ran up from lower deck to be front and center.
Other tracks he played were:
Three Drives - Feel the rhythm (TB Remix)
Roland Klinkenberg - Dusty Horizons (Max Graham Remix)
[I Danced to the point of being out of breath to those two]
Ali Payami - Pictures
As well as a couple more that I know but can't recall the names of right now. I'll add more as I think of them.
That track with the lyrics from Johnny Cash - Won't back down was AMAZING. It was so perfectly placed in the set, it was such a great track to just relax for a minute, close your eyes and enjoy as you take in the warmth of the sunshine. Max, you're a genius.
This was musically the best boat cruise of the summer for me. The crowd wasn't very pushy. Lots of room to dance. I just wish there was more of a TA presence.
For the first time, the boat was out past 5:00pm !!!!
What an amazing way to end my epic summer of 2008.
