Why, oh why, oh why, do some people go and ask 5 different promoters for guestlist for the same event?
Before I fully respond, I would like to see some responses in this thread... |

| I know that I've been on a guest list...or at least thought I was and when I got to the door they didn't have my name. I am sure some people just want to make sure they are on a guest list so they ask several promoters. The only time I ask for guest list is on TA |

As much as I agree that it's not right, there is a reason...
Some promoters are s and don't put you on when they say they will...
Therefor ppl use backups...
And then there's the rest who think they are cool cause they know 5 promoters.... |

I don’t think so.. Most promoters are pushy & break balls (FB invites) to get you on their list because they wanna make as much money as possible. Not all but most get paid from the list & the amount of ppl that come under it so why not add ppl if they ask?
Another good question is why do promoters add a bunch of bull names on the list for no reason? Great you have 84 names but 5 ppl showed. Do they really thing that’s makes them look good with management/head promoters? |

like VDub and Chem said, just for backup sometimes.
I've sometimes been ommited from the GL, maybe because I sign up online.
But usually I'll put myself on the normal guestlist, and sometimes, like the day before, i'll find a reduced guestlist, or something with a better perk and use that.

+ 1 i blame minimal for all that is wrong in this world..
people do that cuz they want to feel special..as if getting on a promoters list is so difficult..and i'm sorry, everyone and their mother has a guest list now..i bet i could create my own guest list to put myself on....damn...:)
get on a guest list that provides no cover for a major event..i.e. labour of love..now, that's a in list i got some respect for.. :stongue: |
