Hey FLTAs,
So, I have a company project because of which I have to move to Miami for about 5 months. I was looking at places to stay and have just realized that I want to live in the South Beach area even though it is expensive as I just have a few months in Miami and want to make the most of it....
I wanted to know other areas that are close to all the clubs, shopping malls, and beaches..is public transportation good in Miami or should I start looking to get a car ???
Any help would be great, thanks guys :0

| Public transportation in miami sucks, badly. The city is just too big for the bus system to be efficient. You could conceivably survive/get around on south beach w/o a car, but it would be hella expensive to buy everything on the beach. |

what he said - the beach is a bit pricey but look in craiglist, or classifieds in themiamiherald.com
Otherwise, I'd look to getting a car that can get me from point a to b and back..
2 grand will get you something to get by for 5 months.
If you're looking for longer keep, then that depends on your pocket |

Thanks guys...so apparently public transportation sucks. I have heard bad things things about Miami traffic as well. But I am hoping that it is not worse than NY traffic...
Which places are good to live for a budget of upto $1400 per month?
I dont want a studio and will probably look for roommates. Roommates.com is turning out to be pretty cool...
I guess I will just drive down to the South Beach area...I guess it makes sense as you would only be doing partying over the weekend... |

for $1400/month you should be able to get a pretty decent condo to yourself. |

I think he means $1400.00 alltogether Flo
For $7 to $800 you can get rent (w/ roomate), then you have cash
for bills, partying and a bit of savings |

Oh man, I am soo excited for the fun part of Miami....can't wait to see what all the Miami hype is about.
Gotta hit loads trance, hard dance parties for sure....The only in problem is that I got no friends in Miami...so yea, gotta build up a nice group quickly - a group outside of work of course cos I get a feeling that the ones are work are likely to be a bunch of turds..
Which clubs are good in Miami...except for Space of course?? What else fun is there to do in Miami that you are not likely to find in NY area?? |

Go to Mansions, Cameo, and Nikki Beach you could check those places out. They have a bunch of little spots all over South Beach.
I never been to NY so can't really say whats diff lol but you could shop around South Beach they have nice stores. ;) |
