Deep and techy stuff should be a good lead into electro. Just chill and enjoy your hour. Focus on the sound and the crowd, don't get yourself in a "box", detached from the vibe.

Recommend bringing along a photon or some other lighting device that isn't so bright as to attract a lot of attention... especially if the DJ booth area is dark and you're playing on equipment you're not familiar with. It's easier to locate knobs on a mixer or deck you're not familiar with if you can read the markings  ..

If you're not used to playing in dusk, do so for a few nights at home.. It can be a bit weird the first couple of times if you're used to nice house lighting. Honestly lack of lighting was the only notable annoying factor of my first few times playing out. Then again, I don't have great eyesight, lol.

Sounds like the promoter picked the right guy to open. I think you are a perfect set up for the next dj with your style of music.

How'd it go?

cool thanks for the tips. gig went smooth. played some really chilled deep/progressive stuff and upped it in the last half hour. guess all the hours messing in the house payed off :)

Can't afford to leave the DJ booth for unknown periods of time.
