hopefully you're opening again. it really doesn't get much better than listening to you while eating dinner and than dubfire following once it's party time.

Count me in for dinner and the festivities after dinner. Good times. So any predications what celebrities we'll see this year?

I missed him this weekend when I was in NYC cuz I didn't know he was there until the morning after. Had to settle for Chus and Ceballos [not bad for settling] but this might be my chance to not have to miss him at all. Good work

How were Chus & Ceballos??????

Pretty fantastic actually. Considering the venue was tiny [Love], and I got there about 2am as the crowd was starting to thin, I only got the pounding late-night beats. Very fierce, very driving, there were only maybe 2 or 3 tracks that seemed to lag where the rest were full of energetic basslines mixed with that classic tribal overtone, it reminded me a lot of the low-end specialists and less of the classic iberican sound I'm used to them playing, but then again, that's probably a factor of the time of my arrival. Hell to give you an idea, the buddy I showed up with is a hip hop head exclusively, and when a particularly filthy beat came in he was swinging his arms around like the bushwhackers of the old WWF. My only complaint was the place closed down at 5am, and no one knew of anywhere else to go after. The club itself reminded me of a cross between system soundbar on a smaller scale around the dancefloor, with much better decor spread throughout the smaller bars and chill-out rooms. Good spot for a small-room house DJ, pretty decent soundsystem, and very dark, it gets my thumbs up.

Had the chance but have never seen them. Nice to see they are still dropping some dark beats .....

always. They've been consistently a great show since I saw them first at boa way back.

they could possibly have late liquor licence as it is film festival. call the club they'll know. otherwise i'd imagine about 2.30/3, i don't think they technically have a curfew but unlikely to keep it open if they aren't selling booze.

I dunno if it's just me but honestly - Dubfire hasn't impressed me as of yet. Saw him at DEMF this past May and he was a big MEH, lots of other great sets detered me away from him.

Saw him at Viva Toronto and again, wasn't really impressed.

Aren't Ultra tickets for any event like this usually $30-$50?? Not worth it IMO.

EDIT: Now don't get me wrong, I'm just talking about the past 2 times I've seen him perform live. His productions on the other hand are top shelf....

honestly, the firt time i saw him was at viva toronto 2 months ago. I was kinda disapointed. I saw sharam at the beginning of this year. it was ok. neither of them is as good as when they are together as deep dish.
I do like dufire's recent productions but i don't remember hear him play any of his own productions last time saw him @ guvernment....
