hey all-
i went last night even though i knew armin wouldn't show up. don't ask me why i wanted to waste 50 bucks. anyways...
i got there and theo was playing. he played some good tracks but it was way too early to play southern sun! then christopher lawrence come on somewhere around 12:30-1:00. he played some decent tracks, but he didn't impress me.
judge jules hit the decks around 3 (i think?). he played some nice tunes. here are some i remember:
The Clergy - Oboe Song (Green Martian) <--sounded great in a club
Airwave - Another Dimension
4 Strings - Into the Night (one of the Gabriel & Dresden
remixes...can't remember)
Mauro Picotto - Pulsar 2002 (Megamind Remix)
Jones & Stephenson - First Rebirth (Liquid Overdose Remix) !!!
Members of Mayday - 10 in 01 vs (Revolution?? "it's time for a revolution" i recognized the vocals but couldn't remember the track)
that's about all my brain will let me remember. edgar v didn't even come on after jules. whoever it was, i didn't like them and we all quickly decided to leave when he started. i wouldn't be surprised if edgar v was never there.
so, 50 bucks. some no-shows by the djs. what a deal.
the place was pretty empty, which left a good amount of room to dance, but i wouldn't have minded some more people.
security was ridiculous this time. they really felt me up. weird since last time i walked in with no security guards in sight (tiesto in feb).
so, that's it. all of you who stayed away you saved some money!

the into the night remix was the D Tech mix right? Also add, Punk(Cosmic Gate mix) to that list. You got all teh ones I knew already.
Exit is a joke. They better not ruin the night when PVD is there. |

summer maddness. red room = techno, white room = dnb, hip hop room = house, main floor = trance. last night was the best vibe that ive ever felt from any club. much love from everyone, smiles everywhere, everyone on the dancefloor is dancing no one is standing. the whole place with their hands up on the build ups. best crowd. everyone is facing the dj booth. numerous circles. saw some really good liquid dancers.
but of course exit had to go and everything up. at about 430 they started clearing out the third floor when i was up there. i didnt really think anything of really cause there was NO ONE in any of the rooms really, everyone was downstairs, then they started clearing out the second floor, then they cleared the stage. now im like WTF. all the people are removed from 3rd and 2nd floors and herded downstairs by 500. the lights go on at like 600 and the place closes at like 645. im not really sure about the rest of the rooms but on the mainfloor onyl two dj's spun. judge jules and someone spinning tech closed it out. no armin, lawrence or edgar. WTF , EXIT
but judge jules made everything alright, seriously amazing rediculously insanely ING AWESOME. he played trance anthems that i had only heard on my computer and i never thought i would ever hear in a club. played a lot of tracks with a piano melody which i love. real animated in the booth too.
i saw a tranceaddict.com shirt on a guy standing by the mainfloor bar. washup |

were we at the same club? Everything about that crowd reminded me why I don't like exit.

the night was definitely not worth $50 but i had a good time anyway. The only DJ I really enjoyed was Christopher Lawerence. Jules did not live up to his reputation. I have to give exit credit because I called up around 11 on sunday to find out what time djs were going on (which they didn't know) and they volunteered the info that AVB was a no show, although they forgot to mention edgar v.
After Judge Jules, a guy called circuit breaker came on and five minutes later exit turned the lights on. they ended up kicking him off and closing the club 1 1/2 hours early. I didn't really care for the guy but they should not have closed the club after we payed all that money and only got to see 2 decent djs.
So let's hope that PVD brings his own crowd to exit and that is the last time they will bring in a dj that will make us consider going there. The club was fairly empty on Sunday considering the supposed lineup and all the hype. Maybe it is a sign that New York is realizing what a club exit is and everyone will stop going there soon. ;) |
