I have tried a search, but couldnt find anything specific to what I wanted.

Could anyone reccomend a decent pair of headphones (closed back) for general listening which are comforatble to wear for a lengthy amount of time? Budget - 50 - 70 pound.

Thanks in advance.

Summary: Sony MDR-v7506

I don't know how many of those suggestions fit into your price range. If you convert pounds -> dollars it should be almost in the middle, but there's the whole VAT and the 'I'm going to make it more expensive because I'm selling it in Europe' tax.

Good luck, though, and I would strongly advise saving up for one of the recommended pairs.

Skullcandy headphones are getting more and more popular and they have the best warranty policy that I've ever seen. I'd check out what they have to offer.

i really like the bose quiet comfort 2 headphones -great sound quality, and very very comfortable for long periods of time. the noise cancelling also makes them absolutely awesome for plane flights, or anytime you don't want to hear the person next to you :thepirate

i have a pair of pioneer hdj1000s for djing too, but i couldn't imagine just chilling and listening to music through them, just not comfortable enough.

I have 7506 and would not recommend them for casual listening - ears hurt after a while (not from sound, but cup design)
