Feedback issue w/ Serato and CDJs

For some reason I'm getting a weird feedback noise only when using Serato. It's a high pitch ring and its god awful. I've triple checked the cables, everything is plugged in right... granted the cables are low quality.
I noticed my Vestax power cord is not grounded, could that be it? It does not appear to be speaker related as I get the noise in the headphones too. Sometimes only on one channel, sometimes on both.
Unplugging the laptop does not solve the problem. I am pulling a lot of power from one outlet... lappy, ext. hd, decks, mixer... could that be it?
Setup is 2x CDJ200s, Vestax VMC004.
It's so bad I refuse to spin w/ Serato anymore... very very depressing. :(
Any ideas? |

I could be wrong but it sounds like you're hearing the control signal.
Have you hooked up both your thru and line outs on the serato box.
If you're using cdj's i think you should only have the line inputs hooked up to your decks. If you hook up the thru's you'll hearing what the Serato discs have on them, the control signal.
Anyway you probably know all the above in which case someone else will probably have the solutions :) sorry

Bingo.
Thanks Nelly.
I was used to using Tech 12s so I was connecting them the same way. Now that I think about it, why would you need a phono with CDJs? :wtf: |
