REVIEW: Karizma Boat cruise (ie. the BEST event of summer!!!)

First off, I have to say I went into this with low expectations. After having a blast on the kaskade boat cruise, i just craved to end the summer with one more, but wasn't expecting much out of it.

Lets just say this kicked the ass of any other event i've been to this summer. This was SOUL, this was PASSION, This was ENERGY. The locals in my opinion put on equally good sets to karizma. It started off slow with everyone just mingling, (boat left at 6:30 on the 6pm depart, so not bad, 30mins late is better than over an hour late on the kaskade cruise). The real stars of this show was 'iDRUM'. I think it must have been a crew of around 6 people using an aray of handdrums, and for some time they formed a circle in the dance floor and were just going crazy. It was one of the only times in this type of atmosphere where i wasn't facing the dj, because these guys were amazing, with the inclusion of another member playing tenor sax. hearing these guys jam to the backdrop of insane house tracks was just blowing my mind (better than any of the live percusion i've heard in the past)

Karizma played without the drummers going on, and he played a very solid set, I was digging nearly all of it, and he appeared to be having a blast behind the decks. The crowd was good for the most part too. Despite being pretty busy, people would appologize if bumping into you, and it just added to an overall positive vibe on the boat. An additional highlight was when for some reason the music was cut rougly 15-20mins before hitting the dock, but idrum just went nuts downstars and drew a huge crowd that was just rocking out to their jam session.

Easily one of the most memorable events of summer. I really hope to see similar events next summer. Kudos to boogie inc. for the solid bookings.

Nice. I really need to hit a deep house party soon.

damn, i wanted to hit this event as i am aware of how sick of a dj and producer Karizma is.

I have a deep house deficiency that needs to be addressed!! LOL
