A classic no doubt.

I'm listening to the first disc now. I actually bought a second hand copy of it and then found and downloaded both discs again as solid MP3s. I did this because my MP3 player has slight but audible gaps between tracks, which s up the ultra-smooth mixing.

It's great, but it sounds dated to me now-a-days. No denying it's one of the top EDM compilations.

It's 12 years old, and most of the tracks are even older.

No , really!?!?
MrJiveBoJingles
What sounds "dated" about it?

Maybe the lack of ultra-loud mastering and squeeze-every-last-possible-frequency-into-every-track EQing, I guess.

I don't know how to describe it... It just SOUNDS dated to me. I guess because it sounds nothing like the music I hear being released now-a-days. And don't go on some rant about how the music today is compared to back then. I'm not arguing that... I'm just saying, it sounds old. And guess what, it is!

Could also have to do with the numerous times I've listened to it throughout the years.

There's a difference between sounding "old" and "dated", amigo.
