London's The End & AKA call it a night.

The first time I went to the End, was also the first time I've ever queued 2 hours to hear a DJ play. Carl Cox in 2000. 6 days after I heard Carl, I heard Digweed @ Heaven.. and I had found my calling in life. Those 2 nights define what I do today. Dj-ing, an EDM website, India's first EDM festival and an eternal unquenchable thirst for music, clubs, dancing and a sense of coming together as one.

I was at the 10th anniv of AKA just over a month ago and was witness to a completely different scene that the one I witnessed 8 years ago. Having seen that, I'm sure the reasons for the sale are financial, personal, emotional, financial (i already said that).

But that's just the way it is, isn't it? I wish we could bring that vibe back from 2000.. the club back from 2000... but that's not about to happen, is it? Fabric's going to open a new club at the O2 Arena, the next #1 trance DJ is going to now sell disco-diapers, Global gathering's going global and many people have just discovered the joyful sounds of DJ Sammy.

Hopefully though, the more things change - the more they'll stay the same.

ouch. always sad to see a dance club go. only been to the end once on one of the sunday hardhouse parties sometime in 2005, but the vibe was good and i could see why many ppl called it home.

london's scene has definitely changed a lot since the golden era...:(
