of course i support a free press. but that doesn't mean that instances like this will have me leaping from the battlements calling on all to overthrow the unjust oppressors of freedom of speech! i dont see a statewide crack-down on legitimate journalists that it warrants some kind of angry knee-jerk reaction as if its the beginning of the end for reporters everywhere.
having been involved at my fair share of protests i know how easy it is to get carried away. the reporters will have their day in court to defend their actions so i really don't see what the big issue is.

please dude....have you even ever been to the US? as an american who is well traveled, I understand american freedoms. Non-americans have a misconception about what those freedoms mean. Americans have a vast array of exercisable freedoms, many of which europeans didn't fully enjoy until after americans.

every right is limited by something, namely, another persons right. free speech on public property is limited by the most citizen-friendly constitutional limitation. Free speech on private property that is not yours may be severly limited.

If this happened in another country the president himself (republican or democrat regardless) would be all up in arms about the evils of limiting the freedom of the press etc.
