viruses suck!
but they are usually easy to get rid of if you know the root process and how to boot into safemode. then just delete the suspect files
also contrary to popular belief very few *destructive* viruses are spread through just downloading porn or movies. most exploit specific security holes in various MS applications...hmm interesting how Microsoft still can't make windows virus free.

Seriously, anyone who writes a virus should get a good beating. What's the point?
Nowadays though, virus's are meant to be able to get your ID's, so the hacker can buy stuff with your name. |

Why make viruses?
Plenty of reasons...
- For a specific target (revenge, people you hate)
- Because you can and it would be funny to make something then watch the entire internetz fail because your a cvnt
- Info retrieval
- Because you are a linux hippie who thinks all windowz users should die
- Because you are angry at the world since you never had any friends, creating a virus is the last thing you will do before killing yourself
I think that the people who find the exploits and those that unleash them are usually very different people. |

This is an ignorant and ridiculous thought. You go through the number of lines of code in windows with incompetent management that forces you to focus on things other than bug fixing, then come back and proclaim that you can make an OS free of virus'. FFS there are even Linux virus'!!!!!! |

| The Smitfraud Trojan is one of the most annoying I have seen yet. Though there are tools to get your desktop back, it's a browser hijacker, and when using your tool bar (e.g. google) it directs you to a search page that looks like google, but is nothing more than links to download more and shady programs/fake virus removal utilities. Even after using the removal tool, it seems to still leave the toolbar ed and keeps directing your google searches to a fake search engine. Only way to get rid of it completely is with a reformat and fresh windows installation. |

If there were no viruses then all the internet security corporations would be out of business wouldn't they?
Sometimes I think at least half of them are created by the companies who allegedly are supposed to protect you from them. If you have their product you are safe, now if you don't...well then :p |
