while getting used to using sidechain compressing, I stumbled across a nice bassline, which had to be made to a complete track and here it is! Please say what you think and what to improve and everything that comes to your mind!
top song here, you can either download or listen (kuuntele=listen in finnish) : http://www.mikseri.net/artists/?id=22587
Thanks in advance |

the tail of your kick is cutted at the end, giving a little peak sound... you can probably fix that with some more release...
i thought the hats are not as subtle as they can be... the bass is nice but could use more work, that clock ringing is quite annoying after a while and i dont feel any depth in the mix, other than that i fel the synths used are too simple sounding, you also gotta make your transitions more interesting, they are just there, no small build or drops, its tiring a bit... the breakbeat that comes in there after a while is nice but i would chop it a bit more... i feel you really should work more on your general idea of the track, its not that clear IMO...
all the best! |

thank you for review, good points!:) clock ringing is dividing options idd, some say its the best part in the song and some say it's annoying, i personally like it. after listening with other speakers i heard the peak sound you mentioned, for some reason i cant hear it at all with my headphones. ye, transitions and lifts are the parts i still need a lot of practise.
thanks:) |

IMO the bass needs more clear definition. The whole thing seems a bit muddy.... The only thing well defined are hats which are too loud...
This has a potential though. Keep up the good work! |
