Does anyone have any information on this mixer? Is it available and shipping already? Does anyone have it? What are the general thoughts on it?
I'm considering getting rid of my Xone 92 (and not buying the 2 1Ds) and getting this instead.
Thoughts on the mixer? |

I had a 3D, the 4D is basically the same with a better sound card.
You do have to realize you will lose SOME functionality going from a 92 to the 4D, at least in the mixer portion (3 band eq vs 4, etc).

Ryan,
Can you elaborate more? The only difference I knew about was the 4 band EQ vs the 3 band EQ. What other differences are there, if any?
Also, is this released? A few sources are telling me it's not available yet but djdeals.com says they have plenty of units in stock? |

I think it's shipped in the UK. There are some youtube videos where people have it already.
As for differences (from the 92):
1. You only get 1 LFO instead of 2.
2. The filters and crossfader are not independently assignable (they are tied together).
3. No penny & giles croffader.
4. The FX returns aren't fully eq'able channels like on the 92, just two volume knobs.
5. Headphone jack and knobs are on the front, which may or may not be a problem.
Not exactly huge differences, but something to think about. I will say the 3D sounded even nicer than the 92, and the filters seemed to have more resonance if you wanted it.
Really my beefs came down to the sound card being inadequate on the 3D without the 4th channel. Plus it would sometimes lock up on me, requiring you to SHUT OFF the 3D and restart it. They probably fixed those issues with firmware updates, and I'm sure the 4D is fine.
On the 3D you also had to run this little utility to configure the sound card channels, now you can do it right from the mixer.
