Berlin Calling relate l'histoire fictive du producteur underground Berlinois DJ Martin (aka DJ Ikarus), en tournée avec sa gérante et amie de coeur, Mathilde. Le couple passe ses nuits entières dans les clubs, préparant la sortie en grande pompe d'un album. Mais les problèmes de drogue de Martin s'aggravent, compromettant la sortie de l'album, jusqu'à ce qu'une overdose le frappe. Il se retrouve alors interné dans un institut psychiatrique. Pendant que Martin fraternise avec d'autres patients et recommence peu à peu à composer, Mathilde retombe dans les bras de son ex copine, Corinna.
Le DJ de renommée internationale Paul Kalkbrenner incarne le rôle principal du film, en plus d'en signer la trame sonore.
Berlin Calling dépeint la vie nocturne de la scène électronique, à 100 battements par minutes.

Berlin electronic music composer Martin (Paul Kalkbrenner), known as DJ Ickarus, is touring with his manager and girlfriend Mathilde (Rita Lengyel) from club to club around the globe and is about to release their biggest album to date. However, all of his plans are thrown out of kilter after Ickarus is submitted to the emergency ward of a psychiatric clinic high on drugs after a gig. A tragicomedy in Berlin of today.

The Toronto Show was completely sold out and a few people could
not get seats and the theater in Toronto was twice the size as the
one in Montreal.
