Pressin' Vinyl

Any comments welcome. I've recently been wondering about the methods involved when pressing tunes onto vinyl. I know you can get certain companies to do it for you, but as I've never used this service, I don't know how it would work. I assume there must be some sort of digital input into the 'system' at some point - how does this work and what happens after that? Can the pressing 'machines' and 'blank' vinyl be purchased commercially anywhere (if yes, then they're probably expensive, but just for my information)?:conf:

:clown: Thanks

There are vinyl cutters you can buy, like the Vestax one, to cut your own record from an audio source, but it costs $10,000 US.

To see how vinyls are made at production companies, take a look here!

If you read in DJ mags there are small vinyl companies that allow people to press vinyls in bulk at cheap price.. like 100 vinyls for 500 quids or so?
