| I think with all the confusiongoing on with the minitek festival, Webster Hall stepped in to fill in as a venue for those guys to play at. Last I heard though, the minitek wristbands were not being accepted. I think its officially a Webster Hall nght now, not a minitek one. |

REVIEW:
Main floor empty; with the exception of the typical girl/group of girls coming from out-of-town and having a blast "in the city". Pearce, or who I thought was Pearce (correct me if I wrong) dropped a few heavy-hits; but was not enough to keep the crowd intact - had more fun in the 80s room till the song with the vocals that goes by "I Love Big Butts, and I Can Not Lie" [don't know title to song unfortunately] came on - downed a Red Bull w/ Bacard Limon and left - what a downer.
HIGHLIGHT OF NIGHT:
Bumping into the ex who was slightly buzzed and was a little more open than usual, and feeding 1s and 5s to the cute bar-tender in the 80s room who poured drinks and danced on the pole every-so-often.
Tonight was a real downer; I'm an an avid listener of minimal/tech/house - but my heart lies in uplifting, melodic, trance. Even if the DJs did not do it for me, I expected the crowd/vibe to be more responsive to the music - but tonight was one of those nights where it was a trip back to the "old Webster Hall" - and not the nights where we expect our old friends and buddies from the Twilo/Exit days [what have you] to be there having fun as a group and enjoying the time spent; my two cents.
Hope the night ends well with the stars on the decks on WH's Main Floor, and to the Minitek attendees/staff. |
