I'm compiling a list of trance clubs/venues in South Florida
Venue can be a consistant one (not once a year type deal). Also, list the trance club/venu with location (ei Miami on washington, or Ft Lauderale off A1A, etc)... oh and also if it is only a certain night mention it (ei. trance thursdays, or only tuesdays, etc), don't forget after hours!
Also, if you can, leave a small description of the place (small but great music, packed ty music, dead lousy music, etc) and include the people in the place (ravers... upscale or whatever) |

| Mercury Lounge in Fort Lauderdale is good on Saturday nights with DJ Garfield. It gets pretty packed from about 1 till it closes at 3:30. The crowd is a little upscale, but there are also a bunch of DJ Garfield followers who are pretty gritty. I liked him better when he was at Stereo, that place was very gritty. But if you don't really like to leave Fort Lauderdale, like me, then Mercury is pretty much your only choice for Trance on Saturdays. Also, everyone there is pretty much rolling their balls off, which doens't bother me because I'm one of them! And then of course, the granddaddy of all clubs is Space in Miami. We usually go once a month or so, after Mercury, from like 4:00 till Sunday morning. I absolutely love that place, especially at 6:00 or so... lots of freaky to look at! |

Thanks ROC for your comments....
What do you mean by gritty? I dont understand...
I was at Mercury Lounge this past Saturday.... And i agree, Garfield is much better there than Stereo.. I think it was the crowd environment (only think i can think of) of stereo that didnt click to well with him.
I didnt realize that he had any followers, not to insult the guy, i just dont like too much his mixing. However, this time at mercury he played some stuff I requested and he was pumpin the crowd pretty good. Yeah, it did get packed from 1 till I left, about 3AM,,,, then i hit the saint after hours, which IMO it sucked ass.
have any of you hit 3299 lately after they reopened?
Also, ROC, if you know,,,, who plays at Stereo now? what is the style or genre? |

| Actually, Garfield wasn't at Mercury last Saturday (5/25) he was in Los Angeles. His roomate, Jon Owen, was the one spinning, and I thought he was pretty good. Anyway, what I meant to say was that I thought Garfield was BETTER at Stereo. It was smaller and I thought the crowd there was a little more into it. Mercury is fine, but you get alot of the stuck-up/South Beach wanna-be's who think that they're the . And I agree, the Saint after-hours does indeed suck ass! I was at 3299 about 2 months ago (after the re-opening) and it sucks just as bad as the Saint. Well, I take that back... the music was better and there are naked chicks dancing here and there, but it was pretty dead and everyone was just sitting there with their eyes closed all ed up. I'm pretty sure that Stereo is hip-hop on Saturday nights now, same as Friday nights. At least that's what I heard as of the beginning of the year. |

no in way... i cant believe stereo went hip hop....
Anygood after hours in Broward? i guess not, from what you said..... its just such a in drag to drive all the way from broward to Miami, especially when you are the one driving..... most of all, i hate when you are all night an morning clubbin, then you come outside and the sun hits you, then to drive... thats the worst feeling |

| I have to admit, every time I walk out of Space on a Sunday morning, all sweaty, eyes all buggin' out, jaw hurtin', and I look around and see people walking their dogs and jogging and , I think to myself "What the am I doing this for every weekend?" I start to re-think my weekend extra-curricular activities and I fell all bad, but by the next Thursday I'm raring to go again! I think that's the weekly cycle of every clubber. The worst was staying up all night a few weekends back and having to go to Mother's Day lunch with my whole family on Sunday, about 2 hours after getting home. Talk about feeling guilty! |
