Im confused...its Digweed in one of the larger clubs in CA...of course you will get a wider segment, including some mass market as well as the so-called washing machines, kids, etc.
Its like going to a "massive", expect the epuddles and what have you, specially if you have the Superstar DJs spinning.
I think this idea applies to all countries in the world, not only in LA. Or at least in the few countries Ive partied to... |
I've been quiet about it so i wouldn't stir trouble, but this i not the first time I have heard about glowsticks ands tuff there suddenly showing up.
The biggest complaint I've heard from peeps are the floor-squatters & e-puddles popping up in the past few months. Which I think are worse than glow-sticks, because they are just in your f'n way.
Peeps with glow-sticks can add an aura to a place, if done in style and for fun and not to get some type of roll of it. Why I don't think there's a huge issue with them being brought in. I think there should be rules on it, like no light shows in people's face who are staring at it all cracked out......maybe that's why some places are just strictly not allowing them though. It would be suhc a hassle for security to deal with.
I went to some event recently (it might've been Carnival up here, i forget) where I actually saw signs saying no sitting on the dance floor and stuff and security was actually making people get up if they tried to sit down.
No my area to pass judgement on how bad it is down there. Just saying this isn't the first time I've heard of it.

I agree and people should be able to have fun and enjoy their night with their lights, Mickey Mouse gloves and even hoola-hoops! :gsmile: |

| This whole thread is based on a quote that IMO was untrue or overstated. I was at Vanguard from 9:45 until 4:30, going from patio to the back bar, to VIP and all through around over under and never saw a single glowstick, etc... Maybe I just wasn't looking for it or have grown to ignore it and enjoy myself over and above the petty .. but I feel vanguard does a pretty good job keeping the club for the "clubbers" |

I'm a bit lost,so glow sticking makes you a non clubber? I mean I'm most definitely not tying to be a snide ass but as a fan of both the genre and the lights I feel I've got to ask.Idk I guess I've grown accustomed to the lights no fallen in love with them.....and its the only alternative, seeing how were not allowed to spin poi in the clubs. Pesky fire hazards, fire's for kids.
Now the painful part, glow sticking for the most part is done in an intrusive and obnoxious way;and most of the time its done competitively which also takes away from it. Glowsticking passes should be handed out lol, hmm theres an idea. |

I was kind of just using the term clubber as in versus raver.. not in a positive or negative light, just a differentiating word.
I feel there's a time and a place for whatever people want to do, don't get me wrong. But a club is a club and rave is a rave for many very obvious reasons - And I'll rock 'em both!:D |

On a sad note.. I got really sad last night. I hadn't been out in a while, and it saddened me to see Vanguard look like a en crack house. I saw people with glowsticks, mickey mouse gloves, shirtless guys, stinky people, washing machines, e-puddles, and a lot more right in the open. Very sad!!! Vanguard's quality really went down the drain. It didn't used to be like that. What a way to introduce my girlfriend to the EDM Scene! |
I'm hoping those people will be @ Monster Massive, and not at Vangaurd, when Sasha plays there on Oct. 25. |

| Hm, the glowsticks dont really bother me as I like photographing them - but what really gets on my nerves is e-puddles. The first time I saw this at Vanguard was when Sander Van Doorn spun there a few weeks ago. Actually I ended up tripping over one of them. It upsets me that security at Vanguard is letting this fly. I mean, in the past I've seen people get kicked out for standing in a corner piss drunk. Now we've got cracked out kiddies sitting on the floor ruining the mood for others around them. I mean, this is a 21+ club... act mature about it. If your sole purpose to come to these is so you can "roll" and act like a retard stitting on the dance floor, then Nocturnal was last weekend for that.. :whip: |

this is my argument against glow sticks. if you're in a proper club, you're not a teenager anymore! grow up! Everytime I see glow sticks at the club, I think, "someone is stuck in the past! and possibly on drugs!" Im sure there's an active "rave" scene for those people to go and be at... |
