Ok,
I've finally decided to go in for my first piece of hardware. Basically, I need it to have an internal sound card, decent sound quality, and most importantly, the ability to use it as a midi controller for production, such as linking it with FL for automation/effects etc.
I ve looked at the Hercules MK2, Behringer BCD 3000, Behringer DDM 4000, Hercules Console RMX, M-Audio X-Session Pro and the Numark Total Control. Cannot for the life of me decide between these based on what I want, because I don't think any of them have an internal sound card plus midi controlling capabilities. My budget is 400$, so any help will be most appreciated.

| From the ones in your list that have built-in sound card Hercules MK2 is the only one worth considering. |

| Spend a little more and get an M-Audio Xponent. It comes with Torq and a built in ASIO soundcard so you're set. |

| I have a close friend who has the RMX and we both love playing around on it. Its built like a tank, full MIDI and allows phono/line inputs as well. |

Ok, went ahead and bought the Edirol PC-300 by Roland. It's a 32 key midi controller with FIFTY assignable knobs/sliders, 18 velocity pads, and even a crossfader. Looking really good from the reviews and such, and is arriving today so will post first impressions when it comes.
Thought I should get two pieces of hardware for individual purposes rather than one that would compromise a bit in both. Thinking hard of getting the X-Session pro with an average sound card for my Dj'ing. |
