What is fun to do in Ottawa?

I have never been to Ottawa, and I don't know anything about the city. What is fun to do whilst visiting Ottawa? Any places that are a "must see"?
Tell me all the good things to do while I am there!! :) |

The parks downtown, there is also a boat tour on the river with a gorgeous view on the Parliament. The Chateau Laurier, Sparks street, the Art Gallery, The Museum of Civilization, The Canal...
The nightlife... well... downtown is crowded with pubs and bars but nothing compared to Toronto or Montreal. |

lol, so true. All the landmarks zeKsg listed are all within a two mile radius almost.. and some of them are overrated, imo. Beyond that it's all strip malls, big box stores and an arena that should have its own area code, pretty much.

I've been to Ottawa many times in my life, and each time it was basically to go to National Gallery of Civilisation museum....
I think Ottawa closes at 8pm though. |
