MP3 Filename Software

I'm sure you all have a nice collection of MP3's... and the more ya get, the harder it gets to find the file you're looking for :) Renaming & Tagging your files is a good option, but it takes ages to rename them manually! There are some tools out there, but none of them worked the way i wanted. So 1,5 year ago, i made my own tool. Recently, I have picked up on it again and started adding some more options and improving the detection engine.

Here are some of it's latest features:
- detects "__" as a bracket
- option to quicly use ID3 information
- add group names such as "-mtc" & "-pow" to the remove list
- files with no spaces will be split by capitals, eg. "MajorLeague-Wonder(KansasRemix)" will become "Major League - Wonder (Kansas Remix)"
- smart number detection option, only numbers starting with "0" will be removed, so eg. "4 Strings" would stay "4 Strings" :)

There's tons of options, don't worry :)

Please note: don't just drop 1000 files on it. Altough it can detect 95% of your files, it's not perfect.

Give it a try, I'm sure most of you will like it. It's completely free, no spyware and not even banners on the site :D If ya don't like it, please tell me what i should improve.

If you'd like to see a new feature, please tell me as this is part of the reason i'm posting this here :)

I'm used to ID3master, but this seems even better... gonna give it a try :gsmile:
*two thumbs up*

After giving it a try I noticed some downsides compare to ID3master, the main ones that bother me the most:

-) There is no way to customize the outcoming filename in the format options, let's say I want my outcoming filename to be -=(Artist)=- Track [Mix] for example, it's impossible with this proggie.

-) There is no option to sort files by id3 tag in the files selection, let's say I have this big dir with many tracks in it- some have an Id3 tag while some don't... obviously I don't wanna convert those who don't have a tag since it will come out blank and therefore tag sorting is a main feature.

It's a very nice proggy in overall speaking, though I suggest you take a look at ID3master as it has many great features that you can input into your prog.

I could easily add an option like this, BUT: I designed my program so you can easily rename the files the way you want but also easily import files from others. Having something like -=(Artist)=- makes it very difficult to detect the right text.

It's a filename based renamer, not ID3 based...
