carpal tunnel

anyone has/had it? I think I'm getting it on my right wrist because it constantly feels weaker and doing simple things like driving feel as if I'm putting too much strain on it. Also I get constant numbing/tingling sensations when I put pressure on my wrist as well.

I am basically on a computer all day at work and spend a bit of time on it at home too.

Is surgery the only way out?

Would working out at the gym be a bad idea?

Posture, posture, posture.

If you need to, invest in a wrist rest - it may sound lame, but seriously, making sure you have proper posture while typing took me from feeling like arse to not having any CT issues at all.

Same with my back (i.e. sitting properly).

my mum had surgery on it when she wasn't quite 40. 13 years on and she's not had a single problem since. It was only a minor inconvenience to her & it definitely worked.

Aggrivating it isn't a good idea imo ;)

I read this as carpool tunnel.

I get bouts of this at times, but it goes away. I know I will get it pretty bad later as it has been so bad that I can't use my hand at times. Sucks really.

I used to have a lot of difficulty saying this word in Portuguese. I could never remember whether it was túnel de carpo or túnel de cerpo . Then, one day, browsing TA, I laughed when I read carpal tunnel mispelled as carpet tunnel, and I thus learned the correct word was spelled with an a.

Thank you, mispellers of the world <3

and for the record, I fap with the left.

I will see how I feel after a few days, hopefully it goes away for now. I don't mind getting the surgery, but just not right now as I am finishing up school etc.
