Flash MP3 player with no gaps between tracks

I am trying to add a Flash MP3 player to my website. I am going to use it to play my DJ mixes, however, a few of the Flash players I have found on the web have a short gap in between tracks, instead of playing as a seamless mix.

I know that I can just create the mix as a single MP3 file, but I would rather have them as separate tracks, so the user can skip around from track to track and see which track is playing at a given moment.

Is there any way to do this or any Flash MP3 players available that don't have this gap?

If I remember correctly, ALL mp3's have silence in the beginning and end of the tracks, even if you take them out, the encodes put them back in there. iTunes/iPods just skip them. I'm not sure if it's possible with actionscript in flash, so I wouldn't know if its possible in flash to do it.

Yup. You'll need a player than can play other formats like wav or ogg.

Do you have an ipod that is 1-5.5g? If so, www.rockbox.org. Put that on there and you have gapless playback, format versatility (you can play pretty much any audio format out there that is distributed online!)

This may not be a problem. The files are already in WAV format. I am assuming I can simply convert these into OGG format. WAV files are pretty big, so I am guessing for better performance it would be better to use OGG (wouldn't the file sizes be much smaller)?

Anyone here know of any good Flash based WAV or OGG players to embed into a website?

Long shot here bucko, but www.trance.fm use flash and there tracks merge seamlessly, it's actually quite impressive what they do, how they do it, knows. But maybe it's worth an email to them, of course if they see you as competition then they could very well tell you to off, however if you're only in it for self promotion they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Just a thought, yo.

Im at work, so I cant provide too much help now, but if you load your sound into your app and begin playing it at a predetermined time before the other clip ends(1 sec or so), you should achieve seamless playback.

If you've got the ability, you can also make each *.ogg into a *.swf and play it the usual way through flash

Hope this helps.

this makes sense, that what you do with burning cds with no gap, you have a track start 2 seconds before you actually want it to. why is it all stupid like this though. this is needlessly complicated

I always delete that 2sec gap. I hate it.
