I can't stand when ghettopeople say "axe" instead of "ask"... I'll say, "can you say bask? flask? task? Ok then why can't you pronounce 'ask' the right way?" |
fixed.
it's just stupid to say black people say this when clearly the group you are referring to are ghetto people and they come in all shapes and colors. i will admit a substantial percentage of the ghetto american population is black but if we are going to point out groups please point out the correct group. thanks |

Come on man... let's not get all sensitive about it. It's definitely black people who talk like that, and in that community where you find those particular incorrections. And in the unbelievably rare case that I hear someone of a different "culture" or color talk like that, it's someone who hangs out with black people and wants to be black. I hear non-ghetto, educated black people do the same thing (for "street cred" reasons I can only assume). |

The very notion of harboring hatred for a word is perposterous. All words have a proper place and use. Hating the misuse of words or the use of non-words, now that's understandable.
Per the above I cannot stand the use of the non-word "************"... IT'S NOT A WORD but if it were it would mean the exact opposite of what you meant to say.
I also cannot stand the misuse of the following words
1) peruse... most people use it in place of "scan" or "look over" whereas it means the exact opposite. Peruse = to review exhaustively.
2) liberal/liberalizm - in the context of political ideology... most people use this word to describe those with an ideology left of political centre; however, liberalizm is a right-wing ideology demanding minimal government and unregulated markets. On the US political spectrum liberalizm (as an ideology) would be to the right of the Republican Party.
Additionally; I cannot tolerate the misuse of the phrase "I could care less" when trying to convey total indifferance. If you are indifferant then you do not care at all; however, if you are capable of caring less then that means you care. The correct phrase is "I couldn't care less."
Finally, the following corporate buzz words/phrases need to go:
- synergy
- metric (meaning any criteria to be tracked/measured)
- take it off-line (meaning something that should be discussed in private)
- put it in the parking lot (meaning defer until another time)
- proactivity
- value added
- deliverable (meaning something that is to be produced by a given date)
- take away item |
