Ok, here is the sample of the bass first:
[[ LINK REMOVED ]]
I think it goes pretty much like this:
K-c-k-c-k-c-k-c- (k=kick and c=clap)
b-bbb-bbb-bbb-bb (b=bass)
And the ebat is 84bpm
But for somereason I can't get the same "pulsating" feel to the bass...
So any ideas? |

Sounds like a simple detuned bass patch on the offbeat. If you can find a similar patch and have your song at 168 bpm you may hear the difference.
I'll check it out on better speakers later today. |

Hmm... You think it's offbeat bass?
not like:
K-c-k-c-k-c-k-c- (k=kick and c=clap)
b-bbb-bbb-bbb-bb (b=bass)
And 168bpm?

Sounds to me like a simple saw bass going like this
1-2-3-4
K-K-K-K
BbBbBbB
B being the high bass note
b being the low bass note
And I'm willing to bet anything that B is exactly one octave higher thatn b.
edit: maybe a -12dB low pass filter with low resonance and high frequency cut will get you closer |

This reminds me that most of the time, people try to get everything automatically (even me).
Like right here, we were looking for a way to get the pulsating bass "at the touch of the button" but what was needed was some simple melody work.
I may be totally wrong but I think I got something here to think about. |
