...don an animal costume, like a bear, and go around making people's lives a bit more surreal.

I don't mean a mascot costume, I mean a bear costume or something like that. I would stand on the subway platform waiting for a train, repeatedly looking at my watch (worn outside the costume), pacing, tapping my watch looking really late and frustrated. I just think it would be funny to see a bear doing this.

Maybe I would carry a briefcase and wear a tie as well, as some kind of social commentary...walking down Bay Street, waiting at cross-walks, buying an Orange Julius.

I could go wait in line to pay a parking ticket, feed the pigeons, take in a ball game...all in the guise of a bear.

I'm not sure if I think any other animals would be as funny.

It may stem from too much Simpsons/Family Guy...and a little Daft Punk.

I would smoke cigarettes and go for lunch at some yuppie hotspot.

I might try and convince a friend to rent a costume as well, and we could be overheard on a park bench debating the current state of the US economy.

If someone talked to me while in bear mode, I would look at them blankly, my head to one side and growl at them inquisitively.

I just think people could use something to talk about.

Thoughts?

word to the wise:

if you don't want to come off as a complete douchebag please avoid discussing the u.s economic crisis at a dinner or social gathering, i find it uncomfortable and unnecessary.

That's pretty funny.

The commotion that goes on at and around Bay St. would make you re-think this idea.

My friends and I did this with a gorilla suit in high school. :p

If you walk into stores with the mask on, they'll ask you to leave (they want to be able to identify shoplifters or robbers). Cops might even try to stop you for creating a public disturbance, although I never tested that out.

A similar exercise that would leave you more freedom of movement would just be to wear some really outrageous or weird clothes that didn't cover your face. Admittedly not as fun as an animal suit, though.

there was a show in london called "Trigger Happy TV" where they did that. but with squirrel customs. ing funniest i've ever seen

So you're a furry?

A perfect example of what I would like to accomplish is the .gif of the guy in the giant pigeon suit in Trafalgar Square.

Anyone have that clip?

Oh, go stand in Yonge/Dundas square and feed the birds. I'll totally join you.

I used to work on Bay, at Adelaide...the commotion is the point, something that markedly out of place.
