looking for new trance, help!

O.K, first I want to apologize if there was a better place for me to submit this thread. I am a big fan of Trance music in general, but I am also extremely picky. In my own experience trance has some of the best and some of the worst examples of music (of course I suppose one could say that about any genre.)
Anyways the point is I need help finding some really cool tracks and I know that there are a ton of really knowledgeable people on this forum who, if so inclined, could really help me out. I am a huge fan of Alphazone, so really high energy epic instrumental stuff is up my alley. On the other hand, a track called Como Tu (forgive me if thats wrong I will have to check) on Oakenfolds Creamfields album has some vocals on it that make my heart explode (a good heart explosion.) So anyways, I wanted to start a suggestion thread, tell me what you think is the cream of the crop. It can be D.J's, artist albums, mix albums, or just individual tracks, whatever you want. I just want to know what you guys think is the best of the best so I can expand my trance horizon.

| just start listening to differnet artists and download sets. thats the best way. and then find what style you like and work from their. |

Wow, two consecutive actual responses to a 'looking for Trance' thread.
I hope we have a record of this for the archives.
Anyway, If you liked the first disc to Creamfields, I have a feeling you'll dig some of the mix comps by Markus Schulz (though it's not quite the same). You may already own what I'm about to recommend, but try Ibiza '06 by Schulz, and perhaps Miami '05.
I think you may find your tastes well balanced with Armin's 2004 and 2006 mix comp series. 2004 has all the Epic Trance on the first disc, with some of the more Progressive material reserved for the second, and just the other way around on the 2006 edition.
You'll probably enjoy the past three installments to Tiesto's 'In Search of Sunrise' series, so definitely check them out, and you'll also likely enjoy Ferry Corsten's 'Passport: Kingdom of the Netherlands' mix comp.
Not exactly the most obscure names and titles, I know, but hey, it's my brief recommendation based upon my even more brief reflection on your post.
Aside from this, head over to the popular internet radio site, DI.FM, which has an enormous amount of streaming Trance content (in addition to many, many other forms of Dance music), in addition to regularly scheduled radio shows on almost all of their channels.
There's no way you can spend some time on DI without finding something that resonates with you. |
