Good Bars/ Lounges in the city

| my friend's b-day is next weekend (saturday) and he wants me to find a good place to get ed up and listen to some good music. we are thinking of getting tables but don't wanna spend a fortune (its hard i know lol) and so i have no idea where to look..... any suggestions? maybe a lounge, bar, club.... |

went there this Past Saturday.
Style: Typical size NYC bar but more upscale. Room in front with bar and some booths and dance room in the back
Music: Hip-Hop, some 80s, some pop.

The park
(118 10th Ave/18th St)
Place is massive but really nice inside(trees) but upscale. You will need nice shoes and possibly girls with you to get in. I would say its a large lounge with seats everywhere to fit any size party and then dance floor upstairs with more room to relax
at the end of the night there was some biker bar at the street corner we went in and someone was having their bridal shower there!

Tyler [knittybone] raves about APT. Everytime I try to go something happens and I either head to Cielo or somewhere else. I'd love to check it out one day.
APT would be cool cuz u can just head over to the many places in the Meat Packing District.
Bar 13 is cool, small, cheap drinks, but the day parties are on Sundays. I love that place. |

| actually i just found out that rebel is doing a 2 grey goose bottle special for $500 and free bottle of champagne if its ur b-day! i think that might be a winner but i've never been to rebel, any reviews? |

| I agree with Mellymel, Bar 13 has cheap drinks and the music is always good (unlike Rebel). Also Fase Miusic Sender is playing @ The Annex in the LES on Saturday, drinks are well priced there too. |

It doesn't get ridiculously packed, but it's a good crowd. The music is really good on saturdays usually (the second floor), don't know whose party it is this weekend though. They play top 40 in the 1st floor, but it's separate from the parties upstairs. Get in touch with Memo @ Bar 13, maybe ha can give you a good deal with bottles and reduced list. |
