sasha - invol2ver - review

just bought this cd for my drive up to montreal last weekend..... and i listened to it 7 times straight though on the way up and back.

at first i was worried that it would be old hat progminimal stuff like on his live in la cd, but this is sasha returned to peak form, the way i remember him from back in the day.

it is an excellent cd from start to finish and it perfectly captures the unique sounds that i expect to hear from him.

brought back memories of one of my favorite nights ever in montreal for the involver tour when sasha played at aria and they turned the inside of it into a military base.

After listening to it many times, i can't see how this stuff is dance floor material... at least not in its entirety.

Too many slowdowns, too many parts where you're left hanging dry after a good banging tempo. (middle of the 3rd track anyone?)

Those tracks, most of them, by themselves are awesome, but mixing didn't result into dance floor material, more experimental than anything else.

I remember that night and its absolutely mad decor... Felt like I was marching in the army of God. It was the first time I ever heard the sweet holden vocal mix of britney spears, goodtimes!

yeah that mix was amazing, the decor was awesomness... too bad Aria didn't take a hint in keeping it? Maybe it was a fire hazard??

Anyways, it transformed the place in a cozy and enjoyable room.

it is definitely not dancefloor material but it is very relaxing and epic to listen too. especially on 5 hour car rides
elFreak
i did not like it at all.

it is not , but when you slap involver on something i expect way more.

It's okay to relax to.. A bit too many vocals for me...

Nail on the head.

Had he named this anything else I'd be less critical.

im sorry but i have to say that this cd is absolutely brilliant the middle section tends to get a little proggie but despite that fact its a work of art

some dancefloor tracks in there as well they just need to be programmed properly in an individual set you guys will see when he comes and plays at tribe
elFreak
why is this not called charlie may - involver?:p
