mosquitoes in nyc?

Hello,
This may be an odd question, but I could swear that for years I haven't been getting bitten by mosquitoes. Then again, for the past few summers, I've always been in NYC. Is it true that NYC has few mosquitoes?

Not so sure about that, it depends on where you are in the city. In the summers im in central park and riverside park all the time and I get bit, but if you're a midtown, downtown, non-park person I guess you don't really see all that many nor get bitten. |

Lucky you...I've. I agree with Brian and I think its according to atmosphere. Where there is concrete and buildings there will be less mosquitoes.
Where there is water, grass, and trees..they will be swarming. |

I live on 34th and 1st. Far from any park and 8 floors up and if I leave my terrace door open at night I get killed from them at night.
And the bite hurts and swells.... not fun. |

yeah i dont think ive gone thru any spring/summer months this yr without having had mosquito bites. ironically i ended up with so many PRIOR to going up to rhode kill (and one would think that a wooded area like steven's would have much more mosquitoes than NYC!!) i hate having these scabs =( but luckily they are healing.
got 4 new ones when i went to my moms place last night but i killed the damn thing who was feasting. YAY! |

| one time after a keg in the woods..i woke up the next day with 47 mosquito bites on my back..total of 71 all together on my body..shyt was nuts! |
