To answer a couple more of the questions here, I bought them new.

Also, my firmware is at 2.20 so it's up to date.

How old are they?
elFreak
could it be the DRM with itunes?

i never bought my music off them , but i was under the impression you could only play it on apple products or your computer.

I don't buy my music from itunes. Beatport only. I only burn through itunes.

And for the other person I have answered when I got them several times in this thread.

Even worse news.

One of the tracks that popped an error message last thursday when I was playing out now works fine. Here Im thinking well I can just play around the songs that don't work but now this dilemma of no consistency with playing and not playing tracks really doesn't even allow me to play out until this is fixed.

First try using a different burning program (toast, nero etc.)

What are number the error messages. Most of the relate to "bad media" codes which actually doesn't help as in some cases it has nothing to do with media and means that you have a problem with the laser transport.

Do you get error messages with commercially produced CD's - if none at all (ever) then you know it's a media/burning issue. If you get it with retail CD's then you know the CDJ is screwed.

Where did you buy them? (Like somewhere shady on eBay?)

I dont have commercial cds so I cannot test using that medium. I buy everything digitally.

I bought them at guitar center.

3 months old - take them back for a look. sounds like they're unreliable to gig on anyway so not having them for a couple of weeks is probablyt wort the wait

Borrow some and try them. It could easily be a problem with your burning process.

my bad, i misread your post.

Although its unlikely, dont rule out that the problem may be overheating - the club i play at have fans on the back of the cdj1000's to keep them cool - they overheated once during my set, bringing up an error code (& stopping the music argh!), hence the fans being installed. Perhaps you should try them without the cases? Either way id definitely try a different burner...hope you get it sorted :)
