i got invited to go to this but honestly i don't know. last weekend were planning on stopping in at sound bar for a drink or two before heading to spybar. had three people with me and we walked up to the front and i showed one of the bouncers my gold sound bar vip pass.

i think he might have been new but it doesn't matter. he told me to wait in line and pointed at it, it wasn't that long but long enough for me to not want to wait when i shouldn't have to. after him telling me to wait a second time i gave him the diva dismissive hand wave and walk away towards spy bar as i was walking away i her the bitch say don't let him in.

don't ing tell me to get in line when i have a ing pass that says right on the damn thing that i don't have to. also if there is an issue, tell me and i will sit and wait till you can shuffle me in. in not impatience i just hate douche bag bouncers that like, and .

i am always the one who quasi defends sound bar and has to explain why i am even going there. never had an issue and we still go even though i get sometimes, now .. not so sure.

~end rant

i feel you matthias, but i've learned to accept that it will never change. the bouncers are just doing their job handed down to them from the big guy Jordan. he's ex-military so he's not going to let anyone tell him his door policy sucks.

i've said in earlier threads that the people most affected by this are exact events...they are just trying to put on a good show and get people through the door...they have to deal with this headache on a weekly basis.

i always get loads of trouble at the door but am somehow always able to get in, so if you and chels want to try to roll in with me, you are more than welcome.

werd. yeah i def understand its not on exact, and i completely support what they are doing and don't mean to rain on their parade. my rants were something i just needed to get off my chest i guess. it just feels like sometimes they make it so hard for me to want to go back (the staff). i have always loved the venue and wish it wasn't such a pain sometimes.

anyways i def appreciate the offer, were still trying to figure out our exact place for weekend with the florida peeps in tow. ill keep in touch, and .

Don't hate on Jordan, Blakerz.

Guys, I'm sorry some of you have trouble at the door, but it's a big club, and the door staff tries their best to keep the sketchy people out. Sometimes, the awesome crowd we want in there, such as yourselves, pays the price by having to wait, but the door policy is strict just to keep the club safe and things running in order. Please be patient, it's a big venue, and running it isn't easy.

But if something's really bothering you, here are my digits: 773 750 0907. I'll walk out there myself to see what the problem is, and try to help you out.

i can tell you what the problem is

its always THE SHOES

all of the other clubs have no problem keeping sketchy people out without a shoe policy...soundbar should figure out a way to single out sketchy people without involving shoes.

I don't hate Jordan.

It's just the door policy. No gym shoes. Some clubs have it, some don't. Whatever, let's live with it.

And I didn't say you hate him, but let's put that conversation to rest.

Anyway...

Matthew Decay tonight, everyone!

Such vigilance in defending a club you play at...lol. I have to say, though, Syl...that I don't think the attire policy is a good way to keep out "riff raff". There are plenty of bums like me who don't cause trouble and dress less than exemplary. The douchebags that dress up often times cause more problems. It's really about money. You spend money on your clothes, you're more likely to spend money at the bar. It's a business.

I have never had a problem at Soundbar regardless of my crappy ass sneakers...and I mean, I have some cheap, rundown shoes...but that's what I dance in. A lot of it is the way you carry yourself, eye contact, etc...don't let the clothes make the decision for you. I have, though, seen people get harassed at the door needlessly by staff for various reasons, including shoes. Some of those door people are cocky for sure....but that comes with the territory I suppose.
Door people can sniff whiners from a mile away.

That aside, clubs that don't let people were comfortable shoes really help discourage dancing...and that tends to ruin a lof of people's experience there.

Btw, in regards to me getting in...it was before I ever dj'ed there...

Matthias, let's seriously go together one of these nights... I haven't been there in ages.

Tolgar, I think Matthias already made his decision to not come to sound-bar anymore as his gold vip pass that guarantees him express admission doesn't work.

What about me though, dawg? We haven't had a drink in years!
