This party... was something else entirely! Holy .
Did anyone go to this? I ran into Colibri and some folk I know from Rhythmism, but other than that the crowd was.... interesting? Maybe if we had been there from the beginning.
Tom and I were looking forward to joining Wai at Pacha, but when we found out it was $80 at the door we were like eff that! And off to BK we went.
I don't know how this event was earlier in the evening, but when we got there we walked into the kind of place your mother would never want you to go. It was in some kind of abandoned looking building. It was also about 9 million degrees in there and god help us if someone had dropped a match in there. 99% of the people in there looked like there were on some whole 'nother kind of level. I said goddamn Tom, do you think they're all shooting up? or smoking crack? I didn't know what it was but it was really sketchy.
They still had a bar open at like 7 and 8 o'clock in the morning, which was nice for me when you could actually get the bartender out of their heroin nod to serve you a drink. We stayed in the back room for a while and the music was ok, but nothing I was used to. Is that what minimal techno is? I don't think I'd ever heard it before. Every time it seemed the music was going one way, they'd change it and have it do something else. I think I much prefer the continuity and flow of a trance or house set.
If it hadn't been for running into those few sane people we knew, I doubt we would have stayed long. Tom and I both said to ourselves that if there was ever a place that looked like it was going to get raided this would be it. Around 9 something the music stopped and I heard some people saying something about the cops. Ok Tom! This is our cue to get in the train and go home! Don't want to stick around for this. I don't know what happened after that, but we left before any trouble may have started.
So had anyone been there earlier in the night? Marcello did you go? Was it like that the entire time or maybe it just turned all sketchy for afterhours. Someone told me that it cost $50 earlier in the night, but by the time we got there we just walked right in through a crowd of dazed and confused revelers. No id check, no search, nothin. Quite honestly that scares me. I feel much more comfortable going somewhere when I'm assured that everyone has been searched for weapons.
So anyone else have any reviews? This was interesting to say the least. |

sorry to hear you guys didn't have a great night. The reviews on rhythmism were very mixed.
I hear what you're saying about minimal. I like it as a building block for a dj within his / her set...but to listen to it all night...yikes, get me outta there. |

It was interesting, and we didn't have a bad time. But it was definitely unlike anything I'd ever been to before. I think I was just expecting more order, like someone at the door or bouncers or something. It was very chaotic in there. And we did get there at like 7 in the morning after Armin, so it might have been totally different earlier in the night. But it was definitely an interesting new experience! :toothless |

:haha:
Most likely coke, lol. Some ppl just overdo it.
I just didn't have a good time at all. Missed Tania, bathrooms were a disaster, impossible to get a drink because the bartenders were morons, and very rude staff. The music was really good but I just wasn't enjoying myself. Left after 2 hours.
I realised I'm just too old for this . I've partied for 10+ years and I don't party like I'm 15 years old (anymore). I have standards now and to go to a party that just doesn't deliver after shelling out $50, to me it's just preposterous. I had more fun eating mushrooms at my friends' apartment party listening to the Luciano essential mix.
Heard the Wolf + Lamb party was really good, should have gone there, at least it was prob going to be easier getting drinks there since my coworker was tending the bar at the party. |

People were most likely on lots of Ketamine.
tbh i am suprised that you were so taken aback by how wasted people were lol, did you expect people to be sober?...ill be the 1st to admit that it is horrible when the whole crowd is a bunch of wasters but it iiiis an underground techno party and you did get there at 7am...oh and it was run by the DC10 crew, they have been shut down on multiple occasions in Ibiza over the past 2 seasons for blatant tolerance of drug-use/sales within the establishment.
as far as the music goes I would take minimal over trance any day of the week, but thats just my personal taste :tongue2 |

Haha, I didn't know WHAT to expect when we walked in there :haha: Tom and I were looking for somewhere that would still be playing music at that time of the morning. The only afterhours I'd ever been to were at Shelter and Moomia and they were much more tame. However when I'd been to both of those, imo the music was much too mellow. I wanted a venue that would still be playing something you could get up and dance to. This was definitely the place to be for that!
It was a first for me going to a minimal techno party like that too. I liked every song they were playing, but they just didn't seem to all go together. I guess that's how it is.
It was a helluva lot of fun people watching everyone in their costumes and trying to guess what they were on :tongue2 |

soo i get there around 4ish just on time to catch the DC10 crew rip it up...walk to the front of the building where my first impression was "this looks like its going to be nuts" by the way the place looked...a threshold looking like there would be no sign on live inside..i loved it!! gave the bouncer my tix and entered what hell seemed to of been, it was mayhem!! found my way at first what it seemed to of been the ReSolute party and Elon was on the decks..the dancefloor was half packed but evenly spread out so there was a great amount of space to dance and chill, corner was where the beverages were being served and helped myself to a beer to begin my night- it was pretty evident that EVERYONE in there was on something, even the bartender who was just a LIL on the slow side lol...music was pretty good but didnt last long before i started to crave for my dosage of DC10...walked out and went into the adjacent room where i believed happened to be the circoloco room. wasnt too satisfied with the music in the room but stayed for a tiny bit then off to the bathroom i went..got out of the bathroom which was this corridor...walked to the opposite side how i had entered thinking it was a separate entry to the ReSolute room. upon entering i was suddenly kicked in the face with the atmosphere of the room, like walking into a sauna when opening the door...music was off the wall, people going nuts, clowns hanging from the ceiling (very creepy looking clowns, brought back memories of IT when i was 7), worst of all NO AC, NO FANS, NOTHING to keep it cool all tied together with "SnB" n "CircoLoco" bulletins on the wall...what i was longing for!! the only thing holding me from leaving the room filled with thick heavy smoke was the music..couldnt quite make out who was on the decks but going by the set times posted on the wall it was Tania Vulcano...
bumped into a friend i was introduced to at minitek who introduced me to his friend which had told me he was on 2CB...:eyes: ive heard about the new drug 2 years ago from a friend that went to WMC but ive never crossed paths with anyone thats experienced here or any party that ive been to..not many people even know or heard about it- for those of you that are clueless its ecstasy and acid blended together...so just to give you an idea of what it was that people were on..not to mention the other stuff i saw but thats besides the review...so the place was like a sauna only thing keeping me from leaving was the music..but every so and then i had to take a breather and step outside but found myself quickly going back to mayhem...around 7ish got a better glimpse of the place when light began shining through the ceiling window revealing the dj...it was Cirillo...dude was literallly KILLLLING it!!!!!
left around 9ish cause by the looks of it i was the only sober one there..one stella beer and one bottle of water! i was on a completely different level from everyone else lol
was able to take a few pics with my phone when light began giving way from the sky but have no time to post em since its time for work but will do so later tonight. |

To be honest I was pretty bored with the whole thing. I love the reSOLUTE guys but for whatever reason, this party just didn't work for me.
The only room that I was really interested in seeing the music in was the main/circo room. But that room was so ridiculously crowded and hot (like ing condensation dripping from the ceiling... gross) that I couldn't stand to be in it at all, so I ended up hanging out in the front room and chilling to Taimur's set for most of the time. Plus the humidity in the main room totally ed up my Richie hair immediately so I was all disgruntled. By the time I got there, Andrew Grant had just finished, so I was bummed about missing his set, then Tanya got on and played for all of 30 mins before walking off. I don't know what the problem was but every room seemed to be having mad "technical" difficulties. I heard so many record skips and music drop-outs that it was depressing. It was nice seeing friends and all, but everyone I knew was just way too ed up to hang out with, and so after a while of milling between various rooms, I just got bored and wandered off to Wolf+Lamb at around 6am. |
