I'm sure you were but there will be like 5 people there and it's way too expensive to book them again aka not worth it :)

Thanks Azz3D, I'll start checking out those places after the New Year. Might even start with the places in Cambridge as it's closer to me.

so maybe w/ that being said, it will open up after the concerts are over for some dance events? - but for some reason, i'm doubting it only because i don't think boston can get that lucky

welp... i knew it...

"The club will not, however, bring back the popular dance nights that were a huge part of Avalon's success. "It's really much more of a dedicated performance space than it ever was," Law said."

This gets me so angry. Ugh, nothing against the new bands being booked but if they try to call the house of blues a CLUB one more time i am going to scream. its not a club. IT WAS a club. Now it is a concert venue. not a club.

from this article:
http://www.aceticket.com/blog/01/29...e-street-clubs/

"The two clubs formerly known as Axis and Avalon are currently undergoing a $14-million dollar renovation, but will open as one new club under a new name and owner."

.. same article a few sentences later...

"Lyons has decided to back away from the club/music scene to focus on the restaurants that he owns throughout New England."

Yes, you are backing away from the club/music scene so stop calling your new investment a club. its not.

whatever in all honesty it will bring money and tourism to the city, but obviously i want my damn EDM clubs, stop tearing them down, how could the edm-ers of boston expect to win this battle though? :(

okay rant over.

you know that's sad. when i was at tufts i was out at avalon was my spot! aside from oakenfold in 2000 god only knows who i heard spin back then because i was a total n00b but whoever i heard i loved it. that's complete bull that you don't have a big club dedicated to edm each week. its sad really especially for a city the size of boston with the number of young people a lot of them international who enjoy edm not just hip hop.
