It's virtually identical to the last 5 weeks >.<
In fact, last weeks had more new tunes in it than this weeks!
I emailed the BBC and requested an Oakenfold Essential Mix...they replied stating 'they are in talks'

I have no idea if it works like that to be honest!
I imagine he's been asked loads, as he did so many, he has been busy, but not that busy!
PoT began 4 years ago when the last one was, so I guess that's quite a good excuse. I'd use it to get off work!!
But surely DJ'ing is a little different!
Anyone know if the The Essential Mix is still popular? When I emailed them the links and site weren't working properly...then looking at the site, Oakenfold is the first of the 500 mini-mixes that you can listen to!! They-ve edited the Goa mix into a mini-mix LOL + Oakey talks about it....
So I reckon one day soon :) |

Also, looking at the tracklistings for this year...Digweed, Sasha, Tongy...plus loads I've never heard of.
I guess there are a much greater number of DJ's nowadays compared to 5-10 years ago. That must be why! |

Not at all Leon.....
I was just expecting one of those mixes...you know, that come around every now and again.....usually after the tracks have been similar for ages..
And there will be half the set as UNKNOWN.....
But no....same tracks, different order for a while it seems now....
Oakey could at least chuck in some old classics, like he did with L'esperanza last week.
I was just disappointed and stunned to find new tracks [2!] in last weeks. Then next time just play pretty much the same set as the week before that!!
I even said thanks to you!! lol.
It just implies to me, that he put almost no thought into it's assembly whatsoever.......

I cannot and i am not able to speak many words, therefore is simple with you i will agree.
You speak all correctly. Shame and a shame to these often repeating tracks.
Never such disgrace saw at other DJs.
It speaks about absence of creative imagination, disrespect for listeners and desire to earn on promotion of tracks!!!
