I did - but I remember him from last year at Zone where he played quite a good set and know that CZ can bring out the best in some DJs hence why I'm considering checking him out again regardless of his weak recent sets!

Rene disappointed

all the fun was on the patio...int'l dj's coming in and not living up to our standards in toronto actually reminds me and makes me greatful of how lucky we actually are with the abundance of solid dj's in our own backyards..

patio 8.5/10

rene's set -1.5/10

hahaha yeah I was surprised to see the patio was packed at like 3am when I left considering how few people were still inside

BTW rene was just terrible; I am sure half of the people in the crowd could have played a better set than that. He was good when I saw him in June 2007 (I think). Dont know what the deal was on saturday night.

haha...when i talked to Rene for a sec and asked him why there weren't any CD's for the supposed LMR CD realease party he was like "yeah i forgot to bring them..oh well..i dont care" :wtf:

track selection was terrible, just all over the place

mixing was terrible..... I dont know all the technical terms for the different parts of songs....

but anyways, for example, theres the 2 min intro that is very boring, like just the beat.... then say 3 mins of the main part of the song, and then like 2 mins of outro

when he was mixing he would let the outro play for one song for like 90 seconds, and then the intro of the new song play for like 90 secs.... so there was like 3 mins of boring 'dead space' between each song. This is in addition to a bunch of terrible tracks that were all over the place; the set had no flow at all.

lol i know that description is sketchy...
Sasha
the description IS terrible, but very true lol

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE mixing, awful tracks selection... my ears were bleeding cause of those transitions...

geroin
i noticed that too
after a good finish by joee cons with some techy music he got on and started playing tracks with a 2min breakdown, people started to wander around and go to the patio, there was lack of energy in his set for a set at cz, he did play a few nice tunes though..
