Palin in 'debate camp' until Thursday
Gov. Sarah Palin will now spend two and a half days near Sedona, Arizona, to prepare for Thursday's debate, instead of prepping in St Louis, as originally planned.
Sarah Palin will be at John McCain's rustic creek side home outside Sedona for what a top aide calls "debate camp."
The aide, who's part of the team prepping Palin, tells CNN they decided to take her to debate camp there because it is an "invigorating and enjoyable place to prepare for Thursday."
"SP [Sarah Palin] loves it and has her kids and Todd coming," wrote the aide in an email.
The aide said "John McCain himself came up with the idea after thinking it would be great before his next debate.
Pailin has already been hunkered down for four days in a Philadelphia hotel for debate prep with advisers.
She will take a short break Monday to attend a rally with McCain in Ohio, before heading to Arizona. |
Not too surprising..She's already been in lockdown several days since the Couric interview. If she doesn't perform well against Biden after a full week at "debate camp", I will seriously LOL. |

| Don't let them fool you. The McCain camp is actively working to lower expectations... the easier for Palin to exceed them. |

| I'd love to be wrong, but I'm afraid that Palin might not be as bad on Thursday as everyone expects ... they're not idiots. |

Especially considering the Mccain camp fought to change the format of the debate. It will be much more formal than the Presidential debate...with 60 second answers, 30 second rebuttles, etc...no conversation directly between the candidates as there was the other day. This puts Palin at an advantage. All she needs to do is regurgitate a bunch of 60 second "mini-speeches" that she has been memorizing over the past week.
After a week of coaching it should be easy for anyone to spit out a few good soundbites at the appropriate time. It will give the impression that she knows what she is talking about..even if she didn't have a clue about these issues beforehand. |

what a pointless waste of time.
you can't instill a decade's worth of knowledge into someone who hasn't paid attention during the last decade. she doesn't need to know how to "debate" she needs a ing clue about the world outside alaska. |

| i didn't realize how bad it was for her until the couric interview when it was revealed she has had her passport for only a year or so. Since my mother doesn't have a passport, and she is absolutely clueless about anything outside of New Jersey, I think it's a safe bet to assume people without passports are not highly interested in foreign affairs (or they are just poor and can't afford international travel. ;)) |

They don't need her to "know" anything, they just need her to rote-learn a bunch of empty platitudes. It worked for George Bush, so it could well work for her as well. Besides, expectations for her are so low here that there's basically nothing she can do to make herself look any more ridiculously out of her depth than she already has. If she s up, no (extra) harm done. If she's even vaguely coherent, free boost for the Republicans. Maybe the Dems should have agreed to put it off afterall. |
