| I actually paid hard cash money for Toolroom Knights - mixed by Mark Knight which is the first comp I've paid for since digweeds global underground LA (yeah its been awhile). I was that amped about Mark Knight. Disc one had some great moments and I was excited to hear disc two where I was expecting to be blown away and I kept waiting for that to happen but it didn't. Huge dissapointment! |

Now my understanding is that Sascha Funke is a minimal/techno/tech house DJ/producer. So when a buddy of mine highly recommended this album to me, I wasn't sure if I'd like it. Well, because I expected a lot of minimal.
To my surprise what I listened to was another mellow, ambient and chillout album more on progressive end with some tech house influence. Lots of synths and warm and fuzzy pads. Almost reminded me of a cross between older Moby and Gui Boratto's Chronophobia. (I dunno how that computes in my head)
Again, another one for just those after club chill out sessions, or you just want to relax to some tunes. Nothing banging here, but works well for relaxing atmosphere.

I have been listening to this for the past few days and I am really liking it.
Disc 1 is more experimental with a variety of genres, but disc 2 is pure progressive bliss <--- well atleast for me. PVD's style is unique and its refreshing to hear after all the fluffy AVB, A&B releases/mixes. |

thx yohan, i didn't even know mdg had a new album i will need to hunt this one down. alot of respect for him, i thought he was one of the more talented edm producers years back.
i read somewhere that he's an engineer irl, and that he produces music as a hobby. |

The typical oceanlab sound. Alot of soft melodies that really didn't stand out, and with repeated listens become boring fast. If I Could Fly sounds like cheese. Come Home is imo the strongest 'trancey' song in the album. In regards to the title song, I have no idea why they didn't include the mix found in Anjunabeats Vol3, which is the far superior version. This album is worth several listens and is average at best, but the bland vocal soft tunes fail to excite.
