If all they do is perform to the same level, I prefer the look of the original RP8s. The original RB8s were one solid unit, with no visible screws or seams.
I think these new ones look like dog . Sorry if anyone owns a pair, but this is just my own personal opinion. I think I heard some tripe about the curved fronts giving better sound refraction or some bollocks like that.
I bet the original ones cost more money to produce, and this new design has improved the profit margin. |

It looks like they might be attached to that centre panel. The original ones only had screws on the back.
I have to admit a slight bias - as I own the originals. |

Not really, given that they perform exactly the same - the deciding factor has to be appearance.
And with looks that only a mother could love...... I'll stick with the mark one version....... :D |

Well, they don't perform exactly the same - they in theory can't as the cabinet has changed shape considerably.
Is it any better or worse? Who knows? Either are still good speakers... |

| I have the original ones and like them to pieces! They perform well and to be honest I like the design of the old one's more than the new ones. |
