I wanted to slap her in the ass for every stupid comment she made. Believe me, there were many of those!

McCain needs to rethink Michigan as a result of this

Biden looked like he got bored of debating Palin at the end, because she literally had nothing to say except the same bull talking points that she kept glancing at. She still didn't know what her position was on it. It was like some kind of pedestrian debating Biden. I swear I hope this doesn't make a big bounce in the polls for Palin.

Palin was much better than expected. She has this common touch that I'm sure many people identified with whenever Biden would start getting bogged down in details and statistics. It was very clever of her to call him out on his convoluted logic when he started explaining the "I was for it before I was against it" mess.
As I always say: never underestimate people. Even I, the 180-degree opposite of everything Palin stands for, have to say she probably got a lot of people to agree with her.
Of course, she's a dumb redneck who knows nothing about the world, but surprisingly she gives the impression of "seeing the big picture" and Biden loses himself in statistics :conf:

Palin's like a human Markov chain. The amount of carefully scripted tangents she went down to avoid having to directly answer questions was staggering.
I also can't believe how much she played up that cutesy Alaskan folksiness. That may appeal to the base, but it's also going to alienate independents and uncommiteds whose votes the GOP will need to win (Biden won 46-21 among independents according to CBS poll). In an election that's going to be held in the midst of an economic crisis and two wars she really needed to feign a better understanding of the issues than she did.
Thought Biden handled himself well, though. Would love to see a comparitive tally of specific policies mentioned by the two candidates if anyone's up to the challenge.

What gives you that idea? Polling doesn't suggest a big Palin win. The debate was hardly a game-changer. She didn't even answer a question she was asked - she just read talking points from her notes.
