Question for Audio 8 DJ Users

I was wondering if you are able to still play a record on a turntable (or CDJ) if the Audio 8 DJ unit is off.
For example, say I have the interface hooked up using the multicore setup. To hear sound do I need to have the Audio 8 DJ on, Traktor loaded, or maybe both? Only once was I able to see the setup, but it looked like the turntable or CDJ is routed so it bypasses the unit going into the mixer.
I'm curious because I'm trying to work this out in my setup to be able to play records without needing to worry about the unit being on and to avoid cable swapping. |

Just pulled the usb cord on my audio 8 and threw on a record. It works. |
