Recording in Ableton Live: ears tire faster than FL Studio

Alright for whatever reason my ears get tired twice as fast (if not faster) when I record in Ableton Live over FL Studio. If it were up to me I would work completely in FL Studio, but FL Studio is awful for recording external audio (both in recording and syncing).
Because of this, I have to ReWire Ableton Live and FL Studio to record my outboard gear. Once this is done and I select FL Studio as incoming audio in Live, I notice everything sounds harsher than it would if it was just coming through FL Studio.
Anyone else have this problem? I can usually work for extended periods inside of FL Studio -- but not Live. I tried EQing, but my ears still hurt (everything is fine when I open up FL though). |

| maybe your AD converteres are coloring the sound? |

Thanks for the reply. I did another AB again and there is a noticeable difference, so you may be right.
Luckily I managed to work out a feasible recording solution using FL Studio's Edison. Now I can leave Live to other things and do everything in FL.
Thanks again. |

thats strange, doesnt u use the same AD-converters whether u use live or FL? u only have one soundcard? Maybe FL is setup as 44.1kHz 16bit recording and Live something else? 48kHz 24bit? or visa versa? dont know how that could tear ur ears tho.
And ur sure this is not the case when working with internal synths and VSTs???? Isnt fruity known for soft sound in general realy`? |

Try turning off warping for your recorded sounds, check the sound settings, which compressors and EQs your using, whether both DAWs are being used through the same speakers, DAs, and in the same room, at the same times of the day, with the same amount of sleep etc.
If this is still occuring, your imagining it;) |

| i don't see how recording with fl is that much harder? just pick a channel you wanna record, pick a filename for it and push record. and you get the stuff as an audioclip that you can cut/paste/copy and move around as much as you want |
